aww. i've never really been depressed by it, but i guess i've never been able to figure out whether it's a sad song or not. somebody told me it was about a disintegrating relationship, and i can see that, but a lot of it is really sweet, too. "when we're on different sides of the globe, i thought we'd keep our veins tangled like a pair of mic cables" and "you know my build / you know my size / the degree to which my eyes are stigmatic"
of course, there's also that line about falling asleep in a bath of hair. maybe it means something really personal to him but it kind of creeps me out.
